Staff to sue Morrisons.

Following the leak by a company auditor of their personal and financial details online, over 2,000 members of staff are set to sue Morrisons.

The confidential information relating to almost 100,000 staff members was uploaded to file-sharing websites in 2013 by auditor Andrew Skelton who was later sentenced to eight years in prison as a result of leaking the information. The staff members in question believe that Morrisons should have done more to ensure that more robust measures were in place to properly protect their personal data.

The extent of the claims has not yet been decided but Morrisons have said that they deny responsibility for the loss and consider any legal action against them to be fundamentally misconceived.
